MEMERSHIP STRUCTURE

The structure of membership determines each members abilities and responsibilities within the community.

Stage One:  Citizen

The very basic level of being a member of the Afro-Pick.com community.  The only requirement for becoming a citizen is signing up with a User ID and Password for logging in.  At this stage a member can view/comment on posts in the discussion forum and use all basic features of the website.

Stage Two:  Prospect

The next step up from a basic citizen is becoming a prospect by providing a verifiable method of contact (valid email, text, phone, etc.), general location (city, state, country), and indicating a willingness to accept assignments.  Assignments are voluntary and only rewarded with ‘Afropoints’ which can either be used for discounts with participating businesses or saved in order to move up within the tiers of Afro-Pick.com membership and become an official revenue-earning member of the community.  The purpose of assignments and afropoints is to have a merit –based system of promotion within the community that is tracked through completion of assignments and projects.

Stage Three:  Shareholder

Given enough completed assignments and accumulated unspent Afropoints a prospect may move up within the hierarchy to become a Shareholder.  Agreeing to become a shareholder holds the additional requirements of providing complete identification and contact information.

Shareholders get to enjoy a small share in the revenue earned through various means by Afro-Pick.com.  Shareholders are responsible for developing and overseeing the completion of assignments, organizing events, and participating in at least one Project.  Shareholders gain the ability to moderate forums as well as getting complete access to all the features contained on the website.

Stage Four:  Project Leader

Project Leaders get a slightly higher percentage of the revenue generated by Afro-Pick.com.  To become a Project Leader, a Shareholder must attend the annual Shareholders Conference and present a Project Idea that is voted on and accepted by the Shareholders present at the conference.  A Project Leader only retains their position while their project is being completed.  All projects must be completed by the following Shareholders Conference in order for a specific Project Leader to submit a new project in order to retain their position.  This allows for an individual to potentially serve as many terms as they wish as Project Leader  - as long as they can keep coming up with worthy projects and completing them while limiting poor performing Project Leaders to a single year.

As the name suggests, a Project Leader is in control of completing their given Project.  In addition they are responsible for approval/disapproval of Afro-Pick.com Events proposed by Shareholders, attending quarterly Project Leader meetings and working with other Project Leaders in their region to oversee operations.
