OUR VISION
The vision of Afro-Pick.com is a world where those peoples who are collectively known as the ‘African Diaspora’ are fully empowered and in control of their own destinies and prepared for a quickly advancing world. We imagine a time when an African-American, Haitian, Jamaican, Nigerian or any other member of the African Diaspora can be connected on a deeper level that complements their national origin.
To this end Afro-Pick.com is envisioned as a completely online government. The definition of government here being ‘The governing body of a nation, state, or community.’ Mixing the concepts of a co-op, a social network, tiered membership and the basics of governance Afro-Pick.com hopes to quickly tackle the issues facing the African diaspora in the 21st century and beyond.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The underlying philosophy of Afro-Pick.com is that leadership is ineffective without both direction and followers and that action is impossible without desire and belief. In order for black people worldwide to advance we need a direction, a desire to go in that direction and the belief that we can reach that destination. It is the belief of Afro-Pick.com that black self-empowerment requires more than the historical pride black people have in ‘surviving’. Black self-empowerment requires a strong desire to excel as a people and take our place as the leaders of the future.  Our core motto is that ‘Reality is Perception’. We choose our perceptions, take actions to preserve those perceptions and reality conforms to our collective will.
OUR MISSION
The overall mission of Afro-Pick,com is to build a dedicated online community which will incorporate a governing body in order to foster a greater connection between members of the African diaspora with the goal of becoming economically self-sustaining and capable of providing various services to its membership regardless of physical location.
Afro-pick.com is envisioned as a tiered membership semi-co-operative shared revenue social community and business. What this means ultimately is that each member of the community has the opportunity through their contributions to become a shareholder in Afro-pick.com with a vote in how the business should move forward.
